Suunto has identified a potential safety risk affecting all Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitters and Suunto Tank PODs which wirelessly transmit tank air pressure to compatible Suunto dive computers. \u00a0In two reported incidents, the exterior case of a Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter has failed during regular dry land pressure testing. Although extremely rare, this represents a potential risk of injury, due to the risk of bursting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diver safety is of highest importance to Suunto. That is why <\/span>Suunto has decided to initiate a recall of all Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitters and Suunto Tank PODs<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A limited batch of the high pressure\u00a0rubber hoses used with Suunto air integrated dive\u00a0computers, dive computer combos and analog combos\u00a0has unfortunately been identified to have defective\u00a0hose material which may impact the durability of the\u00a0hose.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diver safety is of highest importance to Suunto. Suunto announces a limited quantity safety recall of high pressure rubber hoses as identified below.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Identification of the affected high pressure rubber\u00a0hoses:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Black rubber\u00a0outer covering on hose<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Marked with\u00a0text 5000 PSIG PRESSURE TESTED \u2013 MADE IN\u00a0USA<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Hose diameter\u00a0approximately 12,5 mm (1\/2 inch) and length\u00a0approximately 84 cm (33 inch)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Manufacturing batch code 1812 printed on

    This recall applies\u00a0only to the specific 1812 batch<\/strong> of\u00a0the high pressure rubber hoses. Other high\u00a0pressure rubber hoses are not impacted.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The following products using this high pressure\u00a0rubber hose may be affected: Cobra, Cobra\u00a03, SM-36 pressure gauge and gauge combos, as well as\u00a0Vyper and Zoop when purchased as combo products.<\/p>\n

Hazard: <\/span><\/b>The female coupling poppet o-ring can come dislodged which in turn\u00a0could result in reduced air flow to alternate regulator \/ inflation\u00a0systems which could pose a drowning hazard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Description:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>This voluntary recall involves DiveAlert & DiveAlert PLUS models\u00a0<\/span>DA2, DP2, & DV2\u00a0<\/span><\/b>signaling devices. (These models are specifically designed to fit\u00a0the Aqualung AirSource *includes AirSource3 QD*, Oceanic Air XS,\u00a0Aeris AirLink, and Mares Air Control alternate regulator \/ inflation\u00a0systems.) These devices fit inline to the BCD alternate regulator \/\u00a0inflation system, and use the high pressure gas in a scuba cylinder\u00a0to activate a loud surface horn or an underwater percussion noise.\u00a0The signaling devices in question have no stamped writing on the\u00a0female coupling collar. ONLY model \u00a0<\/span><\/span>DA2, DP2, & DV2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/b>couplings with no writing stamped on the collar are included in the\u00a0recall. No other DiveAlerts, or any Aqualung, Oceanic, Aeris, or\u00a0Mares alternate regulator \/ inflation system are included in the\u00a0recall.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Remedy:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled DiveAlerts and\u00a0return the device to an authorized DiveAlert dealer or to DiveAlert\u00a0for a free repair. The repair consists of the replacing of the\u00a0defective female coupling.<\/span><\/p>\n

DUI Weight & Trim Classic\u00a0<\/span>DUI Weight & Trim II\u00a0Purchased since July 2010 Gray Handles<\/span>\u00a0DUI recently became aware of a problem with\u00a0some DUI Weight & Trim Systems shipped after July 2010.\u00a0 If the\u00a0<\/span>lanyard and\/or cables are not the right length the weight\u00a0<\/span>pockets do not easily detach from the harness when the handle is\u00a0<\/span>pulled.\u00a0 In the unlikely situation a handle is pulled in an\u00a0<\/span>emergency situation, this could prevent the weights from easily\u00a0<\/span>dropping as designed.<\/span><\/p>\n

As\u00a0of November 10, 2010, Ocean Technology Systems (OTS) Management has\u00a0issued an Urgent Safety Notice<\/i><\/b> as follows:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It has been brought to our attention that under certain conditions\u00a0and\/or usages, the Guardian Full Face Mask (GFFM) Exhaust Assembly\u00a0may come loose. If this assembly comes loose and separates from the\u00a0housing, you will not be able to breathe the 2nd stage regulator.\u00a0This is a result of a defective part with bad threads. It is\u00a0extremely important that you conduct a simple test to ensure your\u00a02nd stage regulator is securely fastened. Description:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Dive Rite takes the safety of our consumers very seriously. It has\u00a0come to our attention that some springs found on Dive Rite\u00a0wings manufactured between June 2006 and October 2008<\/strong> and\u00a0used on the Over Pressurization Valve may rust or corrode.

\nThe Dive Rite wings will have an opaque white or blue tinted bladder\u00a0and a welded flange. It does not affect EXP or 360-branded wings. It\u00a0also does not affect lift bags, surface marker tubes or other Dive\u00a0Rite inflatable devices.<\/span><\/p>\n

This bulletin is being issued to pass on information regarding the\u00a0compatibility of the Mifex hose and the Apeks free flow control\u00a0device AP0233. It has come to our attention that the Mifex regulator\u00a0hose may not be fully compatible with the FCD, due to a variance in\u00a0manufacturing dimensions of the hose nut. There is an internal\u00a0chamfer on the 9\/16\u201d swivel nut, that when fitted to the FCD comes\u00a0into direct contact with the collar of the FCD and moves it forward,\u00a0which in turn slightly restricts the gas flow. Please make your\u00a0customers aware of this issue if they wish to purchase and ft the\u00a0Mifex hose to their regulator or if they wish to purchase an FCD and\u00a0fit this to a regulator already assembled with a Mifex hose.<\/span>

The\u00a0suspect part, which was made of brass, was used prior to June 2006.

\n<\/a> \"Oceanic<\/a><\/td>\n		Important Safety Notice\u00a0Regarding <\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/b>DX type First\u00a0Stages<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Oceanic has been notified by its\u00a0supplier (ROMI, Ent.) that they have received isolated reports of DX\u00a0type Regulator First Stages exhibiting uncontrolled flow of air to\u00a0the Second Stage. <\/span><\/p>\n

Evaluation has shown\u00a0that a specific batch of HP (High Pressure) Seats contained material\u00a0that can deteriorate and fail to properly perform its mechanical\u00a0sealing (shut off) function, causing an uncontrollable free flow\u00a0which could result in serious injury to or death of the user. <\/span><\/p>\n

The affected First\u00a0Stages include those that were shipped to Oceanic Retailers from the\u00a0factory between May 1, 2006 and November 15, 2006. Other model DX\u00a0type First Stages, such as the CDX, DXi, DX3, DX4, and TDX5, that\u00a0received annual service between May 1, 2006, and October 22, 2007,\u00a0may also be affected. <\/span><\/p>\n

NOTE: Due to the\u00a0random nature utilized to assign SNs (serial numbers) to First\u00a0Stages, there is only a small quantity of affected units within the\u00a0large range of SNs. Since the extent of listing the actual SNs of\u00a0all affected units would be impractical and not user friendly,\u00a0Oceanic has created a data base on the OceanicWorldwide web site\u00a0that product owners and retailers can easily access to determine\u00a0whether a specific First Stage is affected and if it has received\u00a0the retrofit. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you have an\u00a0affected unit, you must discontinue further use of it and take it to\u00a0the Oceanic Dealer where you purchased it, or a local Authorized\u00a0Oceanic Service Center, for a component retrofit at no charge.<\/span><\/p>\n

WARNING: DO NOT CONTINUE USE of the Regulator First Stage until it\u00a0receives a Retrofit. Only Authorized Oceanic Dealers and their\u00a0trained service technicians must perform this Retrofit. Non\u00a0authorized persons who attempt the Retrofit procedure risk voiding\u00a0the product\u2019s warranty and rendering the product dangerously unsafe\u00a0for SCUBA use.<\/span><\/p>\n

If this occurs during a dive, air supply\u00a0could be interrupted, posing a drowning hazard. Aqualung ABS\u00a0Octopus Exhaust Grid Replacement<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Aqua Lung has determined that it is possible, under certain\u00a0circumstances, for one or both of the exhaust valves on the ABS\u00a0Octopus to become inverted. Inverted means that the edge of the\u00a0exhaust valve can get lodged between two of the spokes of the\u00a0seating surface. This could happen during the after-dive rinsing\u00a0process if the valves are hit with a stream of high-pressure water\u00a0from a garden hose or if the valves hit the water just right during\u00a0an entry. The valves will not invert during the course of a dive. To\u00a0protect the valve from inverting, Aqua Lung has redesigned the\u00a0exhaust grid that covers the exhaust valves. The best way to confirm whether or not you have one of the\u00a0questionable hoses is to look at the serial number on the lower unit\u00a0of the Powerline. If the serial number falls within the range of\u00a0M48H to M52H,or M01I to M08I and is the original hose, then it\u00a0should get replaced.
