PADI DRYSUIT SPECIALTY

When staying warm in cold water is important, get with the program – the PADI Dry Suit Diver program!

dry-book.jpg (37502 bytes)During the dry suit diver program, you’ll go on one confined water dive and two open water dives. In addition, you’ll be covering the knowledge and techniques of dry suit diving with emphasis placed on the use of dry suits such as operating principles, care and diving techniques.

Your course fee includes the use of a DUI dry suit in both your pool session and open water dives. We’re so confident that once you learn to dive dry in a quality DUI dry suit, you’ll soon be back to buy one!

If you already own a DrySuit we will be happy to provide training on any manufacturers DrySuit (Purchased here or not) – with the following exceptions:

  • Generic (Private Label) DrySuits

  • Mail-Order DrySuits of Any Brand

Covered in this Course:

  • Don & Doff Techniques Specific to your DrySuit

  • DrySuit Buoyancy Control Skills

  • DrySuit Maintenance & Storage

  • Undergarment Options

Session One (Class & Pool):

  • Paperwork

  • Short Lecture

  • Pool Session (Buoyancy Control)

Approx. Time: 3-4 Hrs

Session Two (Open-Water):

  • Dive Briefing

  • Dives #1 & #2

  • Buoyancy Control Exercises

  • Review

Approx. Time: 5-10 Hrs
(Depending on whether it’s a Beach or Boat Dive Program)

Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

DRYSUIT DIVING CLASS REQUIREMENTS

PREREQUISITE

REQUIRED GEAR
Completion of the PADI Open Water Class or equivalent*.

(Minimum age 12 to Register)

*If your certification is listed below you may qualify to enroll in this PADI Specialty Course at Pacific Wilderness.

The Following Equipment is Required for this Specialty Class:

  • Basic Gear (Purchased in OpenWater)
  • Full SCUBA Gear (Rental Available**)
    • Regulator System
    • B. C.
    • Tank
    • Wetsuit & Hood
    • Weight Belt

    Plus the Following needed for all Specialty Classes:

  • Dive Knife & Slate*
  • Compass*
  • Whistle*
  • Dive Bag for Boat Trips*
  • Safety Sausage*

*Note, this Equipment is Required at ALL Dive Shops and is not included in the Class.

**Full SCUBA Gear is available for Rental at a Package Rate of $60 for the Weekend

FOR COMPLETION

  • Attend Class Session and Complete Assignments.
  • Attend Pool Session and Demonstrate Skills
  • Complete Two Dives and Demonstrate Skills

Private – Boat Dives Program
BOAT DIVE PROGRAM WB01372_.gif (406 bytes)Our most Popular Specialty Program. The DrySuit Diver  Boat Dives program incorporates about 14 hours of Instruction Customized to your Schedule with Two Supervised Dives to Complete your Specialty Certification.  

We recommend this Course to Students for Several Reasons:

  1. The most difficult thing to Master for New DrySuit Divers is Buoyancy Control – This Course helps you fine tune and Adjust.
  2. It allows those with Difficult or Varying Work Schedules to take Specialty Classes.
  3. It gives your Group the ability to take a Private Specialty Class with just your Friends at a comparable Price to Standard “Pre-Scheduled” Courses at other shops
  4. This Course has the Most Varied Schedule Available because you set it!
  5. Smaller class sizes mean more Personalized Attention.

Classes Size of One up to Eight 

Deduct $100 DrySuit Rental Fee if you Purchased your DrySuit from Us!

Your Course Fee Includes:

  • Customized Course Schedule
  • Tuition Fee
  • PADI DrySuit Manual
  • PADI DrySuit Video
  • PADI Specialty Certification Card.
  • DUI DrySuit for use in Pool & Open-Water Dives
  • (2) Supervised Boat Dives
  • Catalina Island Boat Trip

To book your own “Private” Class please use the following Outline for time allocations:

  • Session #1 (Class/Pool):  – Dedicate 3-4 Hours total time. This may be done in One evening prior to your Dives.
  • Session #2 (Dives) – You will need to Dedicate a Full Day. Our Boat Trips are scheduled a Year in Advance and can be Viewed Here. Look up any “Shop Boat Dive” and use those dates in planning your Schedule. Session normally runs 6:30 am to 5 pm.

  2. It allows those with Difficult or Varying Work Schedules to take Specialty Classes.

Private – Pool Dive Program

  1. The most difficult thing to Master for New DrySuit Divers is Buoyancy Control – This Experience helps you fine tune and Adjust.
  2. This Experience has the Most Varied Schedule Available because you set it!
  3. Smaller class sizes mean more Personalized Attention.

This is NOT a Certification Program

Your Experience Fee Includes:

  • Customized Course Schedule
  • Tuition Fee
  • (1) Supervised Pool Dive

If you already own a DrySuit we will be happy to provide training on any manufacturers DrySuit

Following are exceptions:    

  • Generic (Private Label) DrySuits

  • Mail-Order DrySuits of Any Brand

  • Used Drysuits that have not been Leak Tested by our Shop
